Zapata: With Brazil there will be a great battle and we have to get three points

Barranquilla (Colombia), Sep 2 (EFE) .- Colombian soccer defender Cristian Zapata said Saturday in Barranquilla that next Tuesday’s match against Brazil for the 2018 World Cup qualifier “will be a great battle” in which should get the three points.

Speaking to reporters before the training that the coffee-maker held at the Metropolitan Stadium, Zapata said that “it will be a difficult match with the best team in South America, which is already classified and has shown its solidity in each of its lines” .

Regarding the great offensive power that Brazil has, Zapata said that “it is a test for everyone especially in the defensive part” because he considers that they will encounter “with players of world-class and unbalanced.”

For Zapata, who has played for five years at AC Milan, the point scored in Venezuela last Thursday in the sixteenth round of the South American qualifiers will be useful if they get “the three points at home.”

On the way Colombia will face Brazil and especially his star Neymar, Zapata said that “he is an important player, one of the best there is at the moment”, so he showed his hope that they can control him, “being always attentive to him and arriving with several men to control his attacks “.

Another player who attended the press was Boca Juniors midfielder Edwin Cardona, who stressed the importance of playing as local in Barranquilla “with a player as important as James Rodriguez.”

“Venezuela has already happened and we are only thinking about Brazil,” he said.

“We have to make a smart match to win the points and get closer to qualifying. With Brazil it will be a different game to Venezuela, because they come undefeated with many games won since the coach took that group, but we trust in us and we know we can do them a lot of damage, “Cardona said.

On the return of James Rodriguez, he noted that “with him, football becomes easier.”
